POLITIQUE ET BLACK METAL : NSBM vs RABM
NSBM
Originellement apolitique, le black metal a été impacté par les idéaux racistes, suprémacistes et ultra-nationalistes d'une partie du public mais également de certaines figures de la scène, comme K. Vikernes (Burzum), H. Möbus (Absurd) ou encore R. Darken (Graveland). Cette politisation donna ainsi naissance, dans les années 1990, au sous-genre politisé qu'est le "National Socialist Black Metal" (NSBM).

RABM
La mouvance "Red & Anarchist Black Metal" (RABM) est apparue au début des années 2000 avec des groupes tels que Profecium (AR) ou Iskra (CA), avant de se développer en réaction à la propagation de masse du NSBM. Aujourd'hui, la branche RABM tend à s'élargir et réunit désormais des groupes de blackened crust, folk metal, viking metal, pagan metal, etc. (Kommando, Sorgsvart, ...).
